Newcastle United Foundation announced a new ambassador for the charity today with Dwight Gayle stepping forward.

Gayle approached the foundation earlier this year and offered support with this role being the result. A role that will work with disabled and disadvantaged children.

The foundation is an official charity partner of Newcastle United and it’s whole purpose is to provide programmes and free training sessions for all aspects of disabled as well as those less fortunate than the average person.

Quoted on the official Newcastle website, Gayle spoke of his role by saying:

I was interested to see what the Foundation did for people with disabilities and when I went to see some of the football sessions I was really impressed.

The opportunities for the players are fantastic and the coaches are really committed to getting the best out of everyone on the pitch.

Earlier this Summer, Gayle launched a new football academy here as well with Paul Dummett, Rob Elliot and Matt Ritchie called Newcastle Elite Academy. The academy offering all sorts of coaching and college courses that has proven really popular so far.
