Ligue One side Caen are interested in signing Rolando Aarons, according to Footmercato.net.
The 22-year-old wasn’t involved last night in our 3-1 defeat to Notts Forest with Rafa Benitez confirming there are “two or three” teams interested in the winger.
Caen’s manager Fabien Mercadal told reporters this morning that he is looking to sign two players before the transfer window closes on Friday, with one being Marseille’s Saif-Eddine Khaoui:
“We still think of recruiting two players before tomorrow night, Khaoui I like a lot but not sure that OM wants to let go.”
Footmercato say that Aarons is one of two other players that Caen are monitoring. Sporting Lisbon winger Matheus Pereira is also a target for the club.
Earlier this week it was reported our no.16 was being targeted by Rangers, Hull City and AEK Athens, but the French club is a new name in the race.
Aarons’ last appearance for the club’s first team came in December last year against Manchester City. He then went on loan to Hellas Verona for the second half of last season.
