So, there’s seemingly fresh developments tonight in the cloak and dagger world of Mike Ashley and his alleged NUFC sale.
Not directly quoted but allegedly by people close to him who have then went to media spin mouth piece Sky TV
, it has said that Ashley reckons that the whole takeover talks with Amanda Staveley have been a waste of time.
In fact they quoted him as saying ‘exhausting, frustrating and a complete waste of time’. For me, that line sums up perfectly the supporting of and the absolute state Ashley has made of Newcastle United football club and it should be the name of his autobiography.
With NDA’s signed, it is a tricky game that has been played tonight and whilst the Ashley camp is insinuating that this has been a waste of time with no bid made, it has been said by journalists on twitter that PCP Partners can prove they have made bids for the clubs and the last one is still on the table. Funny that it’s alleged that the last bid was made in mid November but it seems Ashley has wasted two months turning it down in the usual delaying tactic.
Two sources close to Amanda Staveley assert categorically that PCP submitted a written bid for NUFC in mid November. Submitted to Ashley`s solicitors through Chris Mort of Freshfields (who of course used to work for Ashley & the club), they insist.

With Ashley’s track record of being a proven liar in a court of law and his continual attempts to rile many people, this could yet be another attempt to prosper himself somehow.
This look like getting really messy when the biggest issue now should be arming the football club with much needed funds to survive the drop and as usual it will be the footballing side and the fans that suffer here.
