A few Newcastle United fans have been reacting on social media, after Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed he will be without £129million worth of talent for our Tuesday night encounter at Goodison Park.
Ancelotti broke the news that he will be without Gylfi Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi and Richarlison whilst speaking to the assembled media on Monday, and added that Michael Keane also faces a late fitness test in order to face Steve Bruce’s Toon.
Richarlison was an absentee from Ancelotti’s squad at the weekend as the Toffees drew 1-1 with West Ham United, as the Brazilian was suffering from a minor knee issue.
Sigurdsson, likewise, missed the Blues draw with the Irons as he sat out the match with a groin problem, while Iwobi last featured for Everton as the Merseyside outfit held Arsenal to a goalless draw on December 21, when he suffered a hamstring injury.
Keane may be forced to watch teammate Yerry Mina and rumoured Toon target Mason Holgate try and prevent Bruce from taking his ninth Premier League win at the helm on Tuesday, as the England centre-back missed the weekend’s action with a neck problem.
What will the result be at Everton?
Win
Draw
Loss
Richarlison will be a sore miss for Ancelotti when we travel to Goodison Park, as no Everton player has been involved in more top-flight goals than the Brazilian has so far this season – the 22-year-old has scored eight times and been credited with three assists.
The £50million former Watford man has made 22 appearances this league term, all starts, while £45m midfielder Sigurdsson hast started 18 of his 21 top-flight outings and £34m summer signing Iwobi started 11 of his 16 Premier League appearances.
Here are some of the messages shared as Newcastle fans reacted to Ancelotti confirming the blow of having £129m worth of players out, and potentially having another £30m on the sideline in Keane…

Richarlison is the only one that plays regular… so won’t be that weakened…

Awful record at Goodison. Point at best even with those injuries.

Never been a happy hunting ground for us. Would be happy with a point. Could be wise to start Atsu and bring ASM on later in the game if we’re drawing or chasing the game.
