“Not getting drawn in this time” – A lot of Newcastle United supporters are done with stories regarding a potential takeover.
The latest claim is that INEOS, who have just bought OGC Nice, had a look at Newcastle over the summer but were put off by the asking price.
Bob Ratcliffe the brother of owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has claimed that the INEOS group had a look at the Toon as well as Chelsea, but they believed that the fee Mike Ashley was asking for was “very difficult to contemplate.”
Ashley supposedly wants upwards of £300m for Newcastle but if Britain’s richest man thought that was too much – then what hope does anyone else have of taking the club off the unpopular owner’s hands?
These Toon fans, though, are fed up with takeover stories.
One fan has claimed that the takeover talk has emerged because of the approaching January transfer window while another believes that Ashley does not want to sell.
