A 0-0 draw against Brighton at home was not the result Steve Bruce needed to instil confidence into both his side and the supporters, and one player has been signalled out.
Where do you stand on the Shelvey debate? #NUFC https://t.co/BjWUIO3tAX

The Chronicle put the question out to its readers on what fans thought of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who according to Spotrac earns the most out of any player in the club at £70,000-per-week.
As expected, lots of supporters were not keen on the former Swansea City man as the replies on social media indicated.
Here is what some Newcastle fans had to say on Twitter…
Championship player, at best.

Said at beginning of the season he takes away from the team and doesn’t do enough to be ahead of Hayden, Longstaff or Ki.

Blown his chance needs dropped from the side seems totally lost

After his latest performance I don't think there is a debate. He isn't good enough to start. If Longstaff isn't fit yet then we have to start with Ki and Haydon.

Has absolutely no impact on the game other than a rare quality pass, a luxury (if you could call him that) we cannot afford. Lazy, can’t tackle, slow, shall I go on….. thinks he’s a big time Charlie but isn’t

Shelvey was substituted off during the Magpies’ stalemate with Brighton.
