Deal In Principle Agreed For Exciting Young Forward

|

This morning, Sky Sports broke the news that Newcastle United have agreed a deal in principle to sign Australian wonderkid, Garang Kuol from Central Coast Mariners.

18-year-old Kuol made his International debut for Australia at the weekend, facing off against Chris Wood’s New Zealand and has been tracked by a host of clubs including Celtic and Barcelona.

As long as all terms are agreed the transfer will go ahead in January with Newcastle looking to immediately loan out the youngster to a European club in order to help grease the wheels for all of the red tape, including pesky work permits.

Kuol faced off against Barcelona in an A-League All Stars game with the Barcelona manager, Xavi hailing the then 17-year-0ld as “unbelievable” after gliding past half of the Barcelona team and putting the ball narrowly wide of the goal.

Newcastle have definitely got themselves an amazing prospect in Kuol if we can nurture his talent properly we should hopefully see him in the first team next season carving up the Premier League defences.

With England looking abysmal ahead of the World Cup, it might be worth keeping an eye on Australia to see if Kuol gets much game time as he looks set to travel to Qatar with the Socceroos in November.

It’s still unknown where Kuol will end up going on loan in January, but it could be a safe bet to say Stuttgart will be at the front of the queue having already offered a 2-year loan deal to CC Mariners before Newcastle swooped in. Stuttgart are also home to Garang’s older brother, Alou.
