Despite getting three goals at the back end of last season, Peter Lovenkrands has yet to sparkle in the lower league. In sharp contrast to many of our expectations, whereby he was highlighted as one to give second tier defenders real problems, it seems the key point could be the recent off-field problems the Dane has suffered. Seemingly family based, the hope is now that the worst is over and his pace can be a valuable asset in our promotion push.

Lovenkrands explained the trouble by saying:

‘You of course want to play more games, but I have had a few personal family problems lately. And I’ve missed a few games because of these. But now things should be back on track, so I can focus on football again.

I hope that this will lead to more games, but I will take it nice and easy and see what happens.’

We wish him all the best.
