“Shearer would be proud of that one” – A lot of Newcastle fans love DeAndre Yedlin’s goal in the first half of the Bournemouth match.
Yedlin popped up with a crucial goal just before halftime – which swung the momentum back in our favour and meant that we could go on and win the match.
The header from the USA international was impressive as he anticipated ASM’s shot and crashed a diving header beyond Aaron Ramsdale.
Has Yedlin improved this season?
Yes
No
However, he had our two wingers to thank for creating the goal.
First, Miguel Almiron played a beautiful ball to ASM – who jinked past his man and hit an effort at goal that deflected off a Cherries defender, and there was Yedlin to get his first goal of the season.
It was a well-worked goal, and these Newcastle fans are showing their appreciation for it.

Many Newcastle fans adored this goal.
Yedlin has been brilliant for us since he came back from injury
His brain explosions were a liability at times last year but he’s matured as a player and his pace is a real key for us— Lefteris (@LefterisToon) November 10, 2019
I have to admit I had lost faith in Yedlin but the man has proven me wrong. Keep up the good work Deandre!!! You the man.
