Club Chairman Reveals That Newcastle Midfielder Is On Verge Of Completing Move

|

Bursaspor chairman Ali Ay has confirmed that Henri Saivet is expected to sign for the Turkish club very soon.

Clubs in Turkey have up until August 31st to complete deals, but things had gone quiet since the Senegalese international was pictured having medical tests with the Super Lig side last week.

When asked by Bursasporluyuz.org about when Saivet will become a Bursaspor, Ay said:

“We are planning a signing ceremony for both Henri Saivet and Tunay Torun, the return of the festival will be a collective signing ceremony.”

Reports have suggested that the 27-year-old’s move to Turkey will be a straight loan switch. It was hoped that the midfielder would secure a permanent transfer away from St James’ Park this summer, but that has proven very difficult.

After another season out on loan, Saivet will return to the club with two years still left on his contract at the club. The £5m signing has only played eight matches for us since arriving from Bordeaux back in the 2016 winter transfer window. His last appearance came in the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup back in January.
