Lots of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the latest reports regarding the club’s ongoing takeover talks.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) have had a £300m bid to buy the football club accepted and are currently awaiting official confirmation from the Premier League to go ahead with the deal, due to issues with their background.
This has brought on a wave of reports that have connected the Magpies with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino and former Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez. However, Monday’s report appears to contradict the above.
Will PIF takeover the club?
Yes
No
The Mirror believe that our first-team players have backed the current man in the hot seat Steve Bruce to keep his job and would favour him over all others if the takeover goes through.
As a result, supporters were not happy with this and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that this represents that there is “no hunger” in the current playing squad, while another described it as a “joke”.
Players love Bruce because it’s easy mode
We now know for a fact the players get 3 days off after a win, that’s just ridiculous, sounds like something the best manager in the league John Carver would dish out

If that’s true it’s because Bruce doesn’t work the players. It’s like a holiday 24/7. Rafa never stopped going on about competition in the squad. Clearly isn’t any hunger in this squad to do well and progress. Massive overhaul needed.

If the players want bruce to stay, go out on the pitch for the last 9 games and show us why he should stay. Atm I just cant see bruce taking us forward

The players want Bruce to stay. If true just shows you how much of an easy ride they’ve had and why we’re so bad.

What a joke. Strange why the Steve Bruce fan bus that is the media is so big on protecting him?

Klopp said something very interesting in a interview a while ago when talking about his squad “he said you cant always tell the players what they want to hear and u cant always play mr nice” that is the problem we have with bruce hes probably too nice

Bruce is beyond useless, should be nowhere near even an Ashley run club.. NO other Prem team would touch him with a barge pole
