Newcastle haven’t had the best season, but there have been more than a few highlights. One of those came on Tuesday, when the Magpies managed to beat Man City. The team were given no hope against the reigning Premier League champions, but Rafael Benitez had other ideas.
Indeed, it was a pretty remarkable performance from Newcastle, and that bodes well as we look to cling into a decent finish in the Premier League this season.
One man that has garnered a lot of praise following the game is Fabian Schar. The defender had a slow start to life in England, but he’s since turned into one of Newcastle’s better players, and he was at the heart of everything against the Citizens.
It takes a top player to be able to withstand the offensive quality that Pep Guardiola’s Man City have – but Schar was able to do just that – and many Newcastle fans have made a point of recognising that on Twitter, as you can see below:
