We’re always hoping for a Newcastle win, but we must admit: we weren’t expecting anything out of our tie with Man City. The Citizens have been in good form, and we’ve been struggling for a while now.
However, a late penalty gave us the chance to head into the final ten minutes of the game in the lead, and we managed to hold on – sealing a vital three points in the process.
Naturally, a lot of the praise must go to the players and Rafael Benitez, and pundit Chris Sutton has delivered his verdict on the game.

Clearly, Sutton is of the opinion that Benitez deserves all of the credit for this win, and it’s hard to disagree. He’s been given next to nothing from Mike Ashley, yet the manager continues to deliver incredible results like this.
With every passing week, Benitez manages to go up in our estimation, and this result has only made his reputation improve.
Where would we be without the manager? We, and clearly Chris Sutton too, believe that we’d be much worse off.
