It looks as though we are in with a chance of signing Kenedy on a permanent basis. The Evening Standard say that the club are pursuing a summer transfer for the Brazilian, although Chelsea will likely be looking to make a “significant profit” on the £6.3m they paid Fluminense for the player.
A lot will depend on who is in charge of the Blues come the summer. Currently our no.15 is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge with Antonio Conte already having two senior left wing backs at his disposal. If the Italian does leave however, things could get a bit more complicated.
That is probably why Rafa was non-committal about the player`s future following his two goals at the weekend. We are hoping to hold more talks with Chelsea about the winger, but it looks as though the situation will only be resolved in the summer.
It`s a shame that we were not able to secure a purchase option on him in January, but if the parent club isn`t willing to play ball, there`s not much more we can do. Hopefully his asking price isn`t too high in the summer if he is made available for transfer.
