Four games in and Newcastle fans, like plenty of others in the Premier League, will be eagerly awaiting the return of club football after the international break. The Geordies go into the break in 14th, and that’s hardly a bad place to be.

A lot of the Magpies have been expecting the worse for this season, but after four games they’ve secured a massive shock away win against Tottenham and got earned themselves a point in a solid home display against Watford at St. James’ Park.
The ambition for the season is likely going to be survival, with Sky Sports’ fan-voted interactive Premier League table having the Magpies in 18th hardly helping those fan fears. However, after four games they’re 14th, and plenty of the fans would be more than with that after 38 games.
You can read the Magpies’ thoughts as they go into the first break of the season in 14th here:
I’d take 14th. Wonder if Mike Ashley would considering the investment in the team

That’s good considering how chaotic our summer was, Now Bruce can get two weeks just training with most of the lads

How sad is it that we would probably be happy if the season ended now with us in 14th place #no-ambition #ashleyout

Can we declare now?

Overall, the feeling amongst the fans is positive that they’re not in the relegation zone so early, and now it’s up to Steve Bruce to try and lift them even higher.
