Bruno – “Howe Is The Key”

|

For many fans, the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes has been the catalyst for Newcastle’s surprising top-four challenge, but the brilliant Brazilian has claimed that it is Eddie Howe and his staff that deserve all of the accolades.

Bruno is busy preparing for Brazil’s final group game in Qatar, and after an impressive cameo against Fabian Schar’s Switzerland, the midfield maestro will be hoping for a starting place. It is hard to fathom that after putting in performances as he has this season, he is still being overlooked by Brazil’s boss, Tite. Seeing the ‘amazing’ Fred taking to the field before him, has me, and many others, in disbelief.

Whatever is happening at the World Cup, Bruno will be looking forward to getting back to Tyneside and getting back to work under Howe – someone he believes is key to Newcastle’s success.

Speaking to Spanish site, as.com, he said:

“Eddie is a fantastic coach. A deep connoisseur of football. He knows exactly what he wants on a day-to-day basis and in matches.

“He is accurate when it comes to transmitting his knowledge to the group and gets the best out of each athlete. He and his entire coaching staff are the keys to Newcastle’s current success.”

Howe has done a magnificent job since joining the Magpies, particularly when it comes to recruitment and his man-management of new arrivals such as Bruno.

This has obviously been a big factor in the way the little Brazilian has hit the ground running in the Premier League, but he went on to say that such a loyal fanbase has also had an impact.

“The love I received from my first day at the club was fundamental for me to adapt quickly,” he said. “I was very well received by the players, the coaching staff and the fans. It reassured me.

“I tried to map the points where I needed to improve and worked on them to be ready in a league as competitive as the Premier League. Today I feel like a much more complete player.”
