Brendon Rodgers Becomes Outright Favourite To Replace Rafa Benitez

|

Should Newcastle United’s poor Premier League run of form continue, and at some point say, before the hectic Christmas fixtures schedule begins and Toon owner Mike Ashley gives Rafa the chop then, according to several outlets there are a whole host of contenders in the running.

Brendan Rodgers

The former Liverpool and Swansea City boss has been winning trophies for fun since he arrived at Celtic back in 2016. And so at some point, one would have thought the 45-year-old would want a sterner challenge. And no club comes bigger, with more of a problem and challenges than Newcastle United.

If and when Benitez departs as Magpies manager the odds of Brendan replacing him are 9/2.

Other candidates for consideration are:

Martin O’Neill – 5/1

Eddie Howe – 10/1

Chris Hughton – 12/1

Premier League – Toon fixtures

October

Brighton (H)

Southampton (A)

—-

November

Watford (H)

Bournemouth (H)

Burnley (A)

All five fixtures are winnable but United’s form so far this season is way off the mark, hence their poor league status.

Will we see a managerial change before fans think about putting up their festive decorations?

The proof will undoubtedly be in the pudding!
