The Daily Telegraph are reporting that Tottenham are keeping tabs on our captain Jamaal Lascelles.
Journalist Matt Law says that Spurs are eyeing a replacement for Toby Alderweireld, and see our no.6, West Brom’s Jonny Evans and Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt as the top three candidates in the summer.
Newcastle fans on Twitter were quick to warn off the London club from making a bid for one of our key players:

1. I bet there are *loads* of clubs 'tracking Lascelles progress'. No surpise, so what?
2. At same time, have said for a while that if Rafa goes, Lascelles won't be far behind.#NUFC https://t.co/AQGpqwfhot— Billy Bell (@Billy_Bell99) April 5, 2018
If we lose Lascelles. We lose Rafa.
If we lose Rafa. We lose Lascelles.

He just signed a 6 year contract I think fans are too worried about losing him rn I'm confident he will stay

Verdict:
The Telegraph mentioned Jamaal’s name in passing in an article about Mouse Dembele’s contract situation so I don’t believe we should be too concerned that there will be an active pursuit from Spurs at the moment.
Even if they were to make a bid for the 24 year old, it would be a tremendous wrench for him to leave Tyneside. He is playing for a manager who has shown tremendous faith in him, and for fans who have huge respect for what he has done.
On the playing side he would also have to decide if being a squad player at another team would be better than being a key player for us. Currently though, we are not even close to the centre back departing so it is not worth even thinking about at present.
