“Great goal, great player” – A lot of Newcastle United fans remember the day Demba Ba scored a sensational volley against Reading in the Premier League.
Seven years ago on September the 29th, the Toon drew 2-2 with Reading, but the game stands out because of Ba’s fantastic goal.
The late Cheick Tiote picked up his head and saw Ba on the move.
Tiote pinged an inch-perfect pass to the Senegalese striker who watched the ball onto his foot and planted a volley into the bottom corner.
This was just one of Ba’s 29 goals that he managed to score while on Tyneside before he departed for Chelsea in January 2013.
Ba though was brilliant for Newcastle, and he will always be fondly remembered in the Toon.

After Shearer this bloke is for me the next best striker I’ve seen at #NUFC I was too young to fully appreciate Cole or Ferdinand

These Newcastle fans were quick to praise Ba.
Nah there’s better to be had. Scored a beauty in a win over Man Utd for one..
