Benitez identifies 3 things that have improved at Newcastle this season

|

Newcastle haven’t always been solid under Rafa Benitez. The manager has done his best, but at points he simply hasn’t been able to get the team playing well. However, this season we’re starting to see some real change.

We’re impressing in the Premier League at present, and Benitez seems to have found the winning formula that will, hopefully, ensure that our team is still in the English top flight next season.

Rafa Benitez has recently been discussing what has improved at Newcastle this season, and he’s identified three key areas of growth: confidence, creativity and attacking threat.

Certainly, with 31 goals this season, we’re on track to match or perhaps even surpass our 39-goal tally from last season, and that’s a testament to our growth.

Benitez is clearly pleased with how the team is performing – and why wouldn’t he be? We’ve really improved, and we’re still getting better.

Our Verdict

It was easy to criticise Newcastle earlier this season for a lack of attacking potency, with the Magpies often eager to sit back and wait for opportunities.

We have been more proactive in that sense lately, and our increased creativity has been evident throughout much of 2019.  We’re no longer waiting for chances – we’re actively seeking them out.

Confidence is largely bred through results, and so the creativity and offensive nature of our team in recent months has only helped to spur us on further, and with major signings like Miguel Almiron, that’s only going to grow further.

It’s a good time to be a Newcastle fan, that’s for sure.
