Newcastle fans were thankful after discovering a potential signing has joined another club. Sky Sports reported that Everton player, Nikola Vlasic will sign for CSKA Moscow for £14 million.
The Croatian midfielder spent last season on loan in Moscow but had been linked with a move to St James’ Park this summer. Despite scoring eight times in 34 games in all competitions, including three goals in the Champions League last season, the Newcastle fans were happy he wasn’t moving to the north-east.
The 21-year-old has played for his nation’s senior side on five occasions and has Premier League experience but the supporters are hoping for bigger and better players.
That of course, will depend on the takeover, the Bin Zayed Group’s attempt to purchase the club is progressing well according to a recent report in the Sun, but there has been no official update from the club or Premier League recently.
With the club locked down in talks no players are being signed, which could come back and punish the Magpies. They could get to the end of the transfer window with no new players and the takeover collapsing. Nevertheless, the fans did not deem Vlasic good enough to play for them.
Nikola Vlasic signs for CSKA Moscow. One #nufc have been linked with – real talent.
The paralysis at the top (owner/manager) is already eating into recruitment period.

Already 4 players down to last season and possibly a manager. Surely MA is not that stupid, it’s mind blowing how bad this will get. We’ve 5/6 weeks to get players in/out and maybe a manager. I can see this ending really bad.
