Head coach Steve McClaren has admitted that stand in goalkeeper Karl Darlow should’ve saved West Brom skipper Darren Fletcher’s winner in the game yesterday.
Coming out of the match, with nothing to show for Newcastle efforts that amounted to two attempts on target, with a one nil loss courtesy of a goal 12 minutes from time, McClaren was clearly frustrated once more, but he did believe that Darlow – making his Premier League debut for the club following his full arrival over the summer from Nottingham Forest – should’ve done far better with the effort in the moment.
