A Chance For Newcastle To Add To A Decent Record Against Chelsea

|

This Sunday afternoon, Newcastle United welcome Chelsea to St James Park for a Premier League fixture.

With two games played of the new season, our opponents have maximum points whilst Newcastle United have just picked up a single point from the away game against Cardiff City, last time out.

Naturally, the pundits and the bookmakers are edging towards a Chelsea win, with Maurizio Sarri guiding his team to a third consecutive win.

But, the record books show that, in recent years, Newcastle have a good record against the West London side, at St James Park.

Indeed, Chelsea, when it comes to the Premier League, haven’t won on our patch since 25 August 2012.

Since then Newcastle’s record reads:

• 2 November 2013 – Newcastle 2 Chelsea 0

• 6 December 2014 – Newcastle 2 Chelsea 1

• 26 September 2015 – Newcastle 2 Chelsea 2

• 13 May 2018 – Newcastle 3 Chelsea 0

Can Newcastle keep that good record going?
