Newcastle United have only 6 points left to play for in this year’s battle in the Championship.

With the games dwindling down now at the real business end of the campaign as Newcastle United find themselves heading towards the end of May, there is now a four point deficit to Brighton in first place.

Automatic promotion has now been secured however and that was very much the aim for the campaign, however Brighton’s loss to Norwich City and our victory over Preston North End means all eyes will be on this weekend’s results to see if sneaking past them again and into top spot can remain an aim as we go into the final fixture of the season.

Again though, returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking was the aim and that has now been achieved so anything else is icing on the cake.
