Newcastle could be prepared to allow Rolando Aarons to leave on another loan deal, according to reports in Greece.
SDNA.GR has reported that Panathinaikos want the Jamaican-born Englishman but want the Magpies to cover most of the costs.
Aarons joined Newcastle as a trainee but in four years on Tyneside, he has only managed to make 18 Premier League appearances for the Magpies. He is no stranger to loan moves, as over the past few years he has had spells at Verona, Slovan Liberec and Sheffield Wednesday.
Great things were expected of Aarons at one point but he has failed to reach his full potential, and it would be difficult to argue that the 23-year-old will improve that much now. Spotrac list that Aarons is on £14,000-per–week, and at this point that just seems like Newcastle are wasting that money so they should attempt to sell the midfielder.
Newcastle are waiting for confirmation of the proposed takeover before sanctioning any players coming in, but could still be facilitating departures, with the Mirror among others reporting Sean Longstaff will be joining Manchester United sooner rather than later.
