“10 Thousand Times Better” – Arteta’s Claim After Newcastle Win Last Season

|

Today was the day that the final two episodes of All Or Nothing Arsenal were released on Amazon Prime Video with the final episode showing the game where Newcastle all but ended Arsenal’s Champions League dreams at a raucous St James’ Park in May.

It was the game where Wor Flags stepped up to the next level with their mind-blowing display that went all the way around St James’ Park, creating an atmosphere so daunting that a World Select XI would have struggled to play in. Ben White scored an own goal, getting Newcastle off the mark with former Arsenal target, Bruno Guimaraes providing the killing blow in the dying stages.

The Amazon documentary which went behind the scenes of Arsenal’s season showed Mikel Arteta’s reaction in the dressing room as he laid into his players for blowing their chance to regain Champions League football, telling his players at full-time to “Shut your mouth and eat it!”. This came after Arteta admitted in his half-time team talk that Newcastle were playing “Ten thousand times better”.

That game against Arsenal will live long in the memory of Toon fans as Newcastle absolutely outclassed Arsenal all over the pitch, the Wor Flags display was out of this world and it was the perfect way to sign off the season at home after one of the craziest rollercoaster rides ever, starting off with no win in 14 games and ending with new owners, a manager who knows what he’s doing and an 11th place finish.
